Oyster Tour along the Oosterschelde
Want to gather, open, prepare and, most importantly, eat oysters? Go on an oyster tour! Shortened to Oystour in Dutch, this on-site workshop covers how and where oysters live, how they taste and gives you the chance to enjoy Zeeland’s beautiful natural surroundings in the Oosterschelde National Park.
Your guide Sonja will be happy to take you on an oyster adventure. She works with Over de Kook restaurant and Proeflokaal De Kleine Schorre to organise this fun and delicious workshop on the Oosterschelde during oyster season, which runs from September – November and from March to the end of April. When she moved to Zeeland as a North-Holland lover of briny delights, she was surprised by this region and now wants to share it with you! You’ll learn about the origin and characteristics of oysters, how to open and clean them on the water, practise opening techniques and enjoy the catch!
Culinary Oyster Tour
In addition to the standard Oystour, there is a more luxurious, full-day option with briny delicacies and matching high-quality wines that perfectly complement the oysters. The wines are from the local Wijnhoeve De Kleine Schorre winery, located in the charming municipality of Schouwen-Duiveland. Be pleasantly surprised by all that Zeeland has to offer. The Culinary Oystour: taste, enjoy and experience it for yourself!
Visit the Oystour website for more information about the workshops, available dates and necessities.
