WildWier Flavor Safari

Just in case you didn’t already know it, seaweed is a very healthy vegetable. Seaweeds contain lots of vitamins, minerals, proteins, essential amino acids, and iron. Seaweeds and algae are also much more sustainable than many of our foods. Want to know more about seaweeds and discover how they taste? Join a ‘flavor safari’ at Oosterschelde National Park on Neeltje Jans island!

The workshop host takes you to the wild growing grounds in the North Sea to discover the path that seaweeds follow before they end up on your plate. Wear a pair of robust boots or watertight shoes and bring your curiosity to discover all about seaweed. You will learn how to recognize varieties and feel and try them. An all-round experience for the senses.

It will be one big tasting session that concludes with a buffet by the sea, to which you will make your own contribution.

Tip

Are you looking for more safari adventures in Oosterschelde National Park? Book a sea kayaking tour and cross the Oosterschelde with an experienced instructor. Along the way, there is a very good chance of seeing harbour porpoises near the kayaks and sometimes a curious seal will follow along.
