Inspiring audio routes through the Biesbosch

This audio tour consists of two itineraries through the Biesbosch, a 25 and a 30 km route, that clearly showcase the beauty of this unique landscape as perceived by past and present artists.
The whole year through
‘Biesbosch Noord-Brabant’ Route
This cycle route leads to the tip of the Deeneplaat with a view of Hollandsch Diep, and then back through the Noordwaard via the wet flood detention basins to the MuseumEiland. The 30 km itinerary follows existing cycling junctions, covering the stretch to the Deeneplaat twice. You won’t mind because it is indescribably beautiful. Discover the Biesbosch in Brabant through the eyes of Aelbert Cuyp, Tollens, Thomas van Heck and Willem Maris and several classic and modern photographers.
‘Biesbosch Zuid-Holland’ Route
This route takes you to the land that has changed again and again through the years. Past dikes and creeks, sandbanks and ponds to the beautiful city of Dordrecht, via the ferry to Kop van ’t Land, past Dubbeldam to the quay, along the Merwede river and back over de dike along the Wantij. The 25 km route follows the bike junctions and allows you to discover the Island and City of Dordrecht through the eyes of Aelbert Cuyp, Van Strij, Aert Schouman and past and present photographers.
Both routes start at the Biesbosch Museumeiland.
Biesbosch MuseumEiland
At this museum, you will experience how mankind has been dealing with the challenges and opportunities of the water for centuries now. There is a permanent and changing collection of art, as well as an outdoor museum called de Pannekoek, where nature and culture meet.
